Nestled in the foothills of the breathtaking Cairngorm mountain range, Pityoulish lives up to the meaning of its Pictish name - bright, beautiful place.
Pityoulish, in the Cairngorm National Park, is an area of great scenic beauty, throughout the seasons, rich in diverse plant and animal life; mountain hare, red deer, osprey, red squirrel, golden eagles, capercaillie, black game, crested tits, cross bills, and pine martens, are to mention but a few of the regions varied native wildlife.
The area is steeped in history and has a variety of archeological sites of great interest.
Pityoulish has its own fishing on the world-famous River Spey, and also on tranquil Loch Pityoulish. It is in the perfect location for easy access onto Cairngorm footpaths, and other attractions such as skiing, climbing, wind-surfing, riding, golf, bird-wathcing, and whiskey trails, are all near at hand.
